The Forum of Sustainable Technologies and Global Engagement

December 4, 2020,Global Academic Leaders to Contribute to the Community of Science and Technology Cooperation——the forum of Sustainable Technologies and Global Engagement, led by Department of Precision Instrument, Tsinghua University, jointly hosted by China Instrument and Control Society (CIS),Belt & Road Alliance for Sensing and IoT Collaboration (BRASIC), was held in Beijing, China. 48 well-known scholars and leading experts in the field of Technology and education from 14 countries gathered here via the internet, were gathering here for the intention of reshaping global collaboration via the internet, while promoting international exchanges and high-level cooperation among engineers and technicians.


At present, the global COVID-19 pandemic has not been fully and effectively brought under control, therefore the world public health system is confronting unprecedented challenges and tests. Governments and international organizations should stick together, draw on each other's strengths, and conduct extensive and comprehensive exchanges and cooperation. Accordingly, the cultivation of talents in various fields and the construction of talent echelon are more urgent. How to continuously promote the sustainable development in various fields under the current situation is undoubtedly an important proposition for the comprehensive construction of a community with a shared future for mankind. In order to promote the cross-regional and cross-industry communication of engineering technology industry, "Sustainable Technologies and Global Engagement" forum came into being.


The forum was hosted byMr. Zheng Ouyang, Professor and Chairman, Department of Precision Instrument, Tsinghua University. The speakers include:Mr. Kenneth TV Grattan, OBE FREng, Royal Academy of Engineering-George Daniels Professor of Scientific Instrumentation, City, University of London.Mr. Bhawani Shankar Chowdhry, Former Dean, Department of Telecommunication Engineering, Mehran University of Engineering and Technology, Jamshoro, Pakistan.Mr. Ahmed Al-Shamma'a, The Dean, College of Engineering, University of Sharjah, UAE.Mr. Elfed Lewis, Director, Optical Fibre Sensors Research Centre of University of Limerick (Ireland).Professor Andy Augousti, Founding Director of the Doctoral School of the Faculty of Science, Engineering and Computing, Professor of Applied Physics and Instrumentation, Kingston University.Professor Pablo Otero, Head of the Oceanic Engineering Research Institute of the University of Malaga, Malaga, Spain.Mr. Jian Liu, Prof and Dean of School of Instrumentation Science and Engineering, Harbin Institute of Technology, China. The brilliant speeches of seven leading scholars from six countries brought the attendees with great foresight and insight, which led to in-depth discussion and imagination.
