The Institution of Engineers Indonesia was established on 23 May 1952, in Bandung, founded by Ir. Djuanda Kartawidjaja and Dr. Rooseno Soeryohadikoesoemo.

The Institution is committed to promoting the development and reform of engineering professions through the improvement of scientific and technological capabilities, so that participants can become competitive engineers, and contribute to the welfare of the people and the prosperity and stability of the nation.
